Agustin Escobar Medina, 61, a Cape Coral resident since 2009, formerly of Chicago, IL was born to eternal life Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was born January 10, 1955 in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico to Agustin and Maria Luisa (Escobar) Medina, now deceased.

Agustin was of Catholic faith and a parishioner of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Cape Coral, FL. He worked as a Lighting director for CBS Television and was the most senior member of the Stage Hand Union at time of retirement in Chicago. One of his most memorable moments during his working career was getting to meet Pope John Paul II. He was an avid storyteller whose stories where sometimes tall yet always entertaining. He is remembered for his bold personality, his laughter, his adventurous spirit, his affection for feathered and furry pets, and his immense love for his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lourdes Medina of Cape Coral, FL; five children, Claudia Elena (Hector Rodriguez) Medina of Berwyn, IL, Maria Luisa (David) Flick of Chesterfield, MO, Daniel Agustin (Mayra Robledo) Medina of Cicero, IL, Tanya (Claudio Campoverde) Serrano of Miami, FL and Brian Medina of Miami, FL; five sisters, Ana (Charles) Hill of Omaha, NE, Maria Elena (Noel) Gomez of Chicago, IL, Berta Alicia (Mario) Uribe of Chicago, IL, Georgina (Falsino) Lerma of Chicago, IL and Carolina (Heriberto) Palacios of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Luis Gerardo (Debbie) Medina of Tinley Park, IL, Victor Medina of Chicago, IL and Arturo (Diana) Medina of Westchester, IL; six grandchildren, Gina Marie Medina, Hector Asiel Rodriguez, Matias Elian Rodriguez, Isabel Flick, Cecilia Flick and Lucia Flick; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM, Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL.
