Barbaro Horta

September 6, 1963 - June 11, 2014

Barbaro Horta, 50, of Fort Myers, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Cape Coral. He was born September 6, 1963 in Cuba to Francisco and Carmelina Horta.

Barbaro was happily married for 25 years to his loving wife Graciela. A proud family man who always made sure his family had everything they needed, by making sacrifices and working days on the road away from home. When he would return he always made sure to make up for lost time whether it was working on cars with his children or date night with the love of his life. A loving brother that never went without helping his sister whenever necessary. He was always someone you could count on. A remarkable and honest man who never let his illness get the best of him. With such high spirits he was always optimistic that he would grow old and spoil his grandchildren. One of his favorite things to do after a hard week was to go fishing with his wife and kids to just wind down and relax. One thing is for sure we all know he could not go a day without his Cuban coffee especially when it was made by the love of his life. He never went a day without expressing his feelings to the people he loved he made sure his family knew how big his love for them was. You will always fill our hearts with joy from how big your love was and we will never forget you and all the great things you did.

He is survived by his beloved wife Graceiela Inclan of Ft. Myers, FL; his mother, Carmelina Arias of Port Charlotte, FL; his children, Bobby Horta (Amy) of TX and Sgt. Jorge Horta (Esmarie) of TX & Cape Coral, FL and Olga Horta of Miami, FL; one sister, Maria Williams (Keith) of Ft. Myers, FL; one grandchild, Matthew Preston Horta; his nephews, Jesus Rojas (Patricia, Theresa and Branden), and Mike Rojas (Ashley, Yasmin and Alexander) Convington, LA.

Barbaro was preceded in death by his father Francisco Horta.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

My father was always joking and happy. Enjoyed spending time with me and my two brothers. I wish he was still here to see how much more of life he could of had. He battled with cancer, as many of us know or lost someone to cancer. Though, he had wished to recover to spend more time with us his loving family. Everyday i carry him in my heart, I appreciate the time I had with him, more and more time I would of asked god for. Dad I hope you rest in peace. May we meet again one day. Love you, I’m so much like you.
