Edward George Neam

July 27, 1917 - November 17, 2014

Edward George Neam, 97, a Cape Coral resident since 1990, formerly of Rockville, MD, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. He was born on July 27, 1917 in Washington, D.C.

Edward was a member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Ft. Myers and was also a member of the choir. After 45 years of service he retired as a Civil Service employee from the Pentagon’s Joint Chief of Staff in Arlington, Virginia. He was a Choir member of St. George Syrian Orthodox Church in Washington, DC where the choir won numerous awards for their performances. As a gifted illustrator, he volunteered teaching art to students at Cape Coral elementary school and worked as a crossing guard for the City of Cape Coral. Always with a smile and kind word, he volunteered his time for numerous organizations. He was adored by his family and will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Aqualina “Lina” Neam of Cape Coral; three children, Sandra M. Page of Frisco, TX, Denise Z. Neam, of Frisco, TX, and Edward G. Neam, Jr. of Cape Coral, FL; sisters, Pauline Staunton of Cape Coral, FL, Jeanette Dobeck of Philadelphia, PA, and Isabell Grob , of North Ft. Myers, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Zakia Neam as well as four siblings, Adeeb Neam, Jimmy Neam, Delia Chatman and Linda O’Toole.
