Jimmy L. Myre, Sr.
Jimmy Lynn Myre, Sr., 72, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 25 years, formerly of Ottawa, IL, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born September 25, 1945 in Ottawa, IL to Orville Joseph and Dorothy Myre, Sr., now deceased.
Jim was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Ottawa, IL and Word of Life Church in Cape Coral, FL. He graduated from Newark, IL High School and attended Aurora Barber College. Jim was a self-employed Barber for over 50 years. He was an avid windsurfer, kayaker, golfer and woodcarver. Jim was happiest in life with his family or on the water.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judith Ann Myre of Cape Coral; two loving children, JoAnn Toppin (Greg) of Naples, FL and Jimmy Myre, Jr. (Connie) of Ottawa, IL; brother, Martin Myre (Shirley) of Newark, IL; four grandchildren, Brandon Faber (Christy), Melissa Faber (Marne), Morgan Myre and Emily Myre; two great grandchildren, Dylan Hammond and Olivia Faber; as well as Iggy the dog.
Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Orville Joseph Myre, Jr.
Memorial Services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916 with Pastor Jon Blikstad officiating.
