Paul Richard Dowell

Paul Richard Dowell, 82, a Ft. Myers, Florida resident since 1986, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 in Cape Coral. He was born March 12, 1933 in Terre Haute, IN to James and Sadie Dowell, now deceased.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Frances Joan Weil Dowell of Ft. Myers; son, Jim Dowell of Coral Springs, FL and daughter, Paula Dowell of Ft. Myers; brother, Bob Dowell of Terre Haute, IN; loving sister-in-law, Virgina Allen of Terre Haute; several nieces and nephew; as well as the love of his life, grandson, Alec.

Paul was in The US Navy. He was a member of Steamin Demon while serving aboard The U.S.S. Thomas E. Fraser. He retired from the Terre Haute Police Department. Paul was a member of The Retired Police and Fireman Association, The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 85, and The Terre Haute Mosaic Lodge 19, as well as The Blue Lodge.

Paul was preceded in death by sisters, Maxine Bunch, Beatrice Cannon, Katherine Morley, and Barbara Schimmel.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 11:30 AM Friday, September 4, 2015 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
