Sommer Ann Eva

February 23, 1971 - June 17, 2015

Sommer Ann Eva, Age 44, passed away peacefully June 17, 2015 with her soulmate Justin Braatz at her side. Sommer was born February 23, 1971 in Fort Myers, Florida. She was a Cypress Lake High graduate. She later attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. Sommer was a talented artist. Her love for art was evident in the many murals, etchings, and pastels that would captivate and inspire. She showcased this talent in nail salons where she won many awards. Sommer also had an incredible fashion sense! She took her fashion cues from no one. Her signature every day look was all her own creation. Those of us that knew Sommer, knew how she could take a plain T-shirt, some fabric, and design the most stunning and fashionable wardrobe. Sommer was always happy, spirited, impulsive, and helped anyone in need. Her free spirit took her to Europe and Australia where she took residence for a while. She even won a Madonna look-a-like contest hosted by the Ft. Myers News press. Sommer, with her art, intelligence, and love for life could transform a yellow spot into the sun!

Sommer is preceded in death by her father, Lee County Deputy Sheriff Richard Eva who was killed in the line of duty in 1972. She is survived by her loving mother Ann and stepfather Dominic Pittro; brother, Richard Eva Jr. (Kathy); nephew, James Eva; her loving daughter, Stori; and her former husband and Stori’s father, Keven McDougall.

Stori was the love of Sommer’s life! Sommer loved and encouraged Stori to be the best at everything. She spent time doing such wonderful and creative things with her daughter. Stori now has her own personal guardian angel to see her through any of life’s challenges or obstacles.

The fond memories of Sommer will always remain in our hearts. A Celebration of life will be held at Mullins Memorial Funeral Home, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd. Fort Myers, Florida 33916, on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
