Stephen Charles Edwards

Stephen Charles Edwards, 66, a Cape Coral, FL resident since the early 2000’s, formerly of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in Cape Coral. He was born August 3, 1948 in Key West, FL to William and Doris Edwards, now deceased.

Steve received his Master’s degree in Counseling from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC in 1976. He worked for many years as a counselor and then later as a salesman in a variety of fields. When he moved to Cape Coral, he became active in the Moose Lodge, VFW and Epiphany Episcopal Church. Steve loved living in South Florida and was proud to be a “Conch” native. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and traveling, and will be remembered for his good sense of humor and his loving and caring nature.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Alison J. Edwards and her fiancé, Darick Alexander of Charlotte, NC and Laura E. Herring and her husband Matthew of Raleigh, NC; his granddaughter, Ansley Alexander also of Charlotte; his beloved companion of over 15 years, Willa Forrester of Cape Coral; the mother of his two daughters, Marsha Edwards of Indian Trail, NC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his two siblings, Judy Powers and William “Bill” Edwards.
