Steven “Steve” L. Rodgers

January 28, 1955 - February 17, 2018

Steven Lewis Rodgers 63, of Fort Myers, FL passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 following a long battle with cancer. He was born January 28, 1955 in Olney, Maryland to Charles and Janette Rodgers. He grew up in Rockville, Maryland before making Fort Myers, Florida his home.

Steve worked for 20 years as a truck driver with Southeastern Freight Lines. Steve was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather (AKA Pops) who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, watching old western movies, football, and making people laugh with his inappropriate jokes.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Charles Rodgers. He is survived by his devoted mother, Janette Rodgers; beloved wife of 35 years, Renee Rodgers; loving children Lindsey (Steve) Meeks, Brian (Lauren) Rodgers, Ashley (Philip) Balog, and Sarah Rodgers; six grandchildren – Dominic, Ian, Logan, Tristian, Emily, and Madison; siblings Linda Runion, Donna Warfield, Herky Rodgers, and Terry Rodgers as well as many nieces and nephews.

His Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the family home.
