William McClave Holzapfel

William “Billy” McClave Holzapfel, 67, a Southwest Florida resident since 1979 including North Captiva, Captiva and most recently Bokeelia, FL, formerly of Frederick, MD, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in Cape Coral. He was born in Frederick, MD on January 4, 1947 to William and Marion Holzapfel, now deceased.

Billy was of the Christian faith and was a US Navy veteran. He graduated from the Blue Ridge School and went on to graduate from Western Kentucky University. He was a lover of his friends and family, music, and life on the water. He was an accomplished carpenter who enjoyed playing guitar in his spare time. Billy was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a dependable friend. His positive outlook on life is only surpassed by the love he had for his friends and family.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Tracy Smith Holzapfel of Bokeelia, FL; three loving children, Christy Holzapfel Lininger and husband Jason of Walkersville, MD, William Prior Holzapfel and wife Tiffany Crandall Holzapfel of Bokeelia and Jacob Smith Holzapfel also of Bokeelia; three grandchildren, Gabe Reese Lininger, Emma Elizabeth Lininger and William McClave Holzapfel; as well as his previous wife, Sherry Hiner Ferrell and her husband Scott of Frederick, MD.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

Memorial services will be held at the family home on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.
