Alberta Askew

Alberta Askew, 79, a resident of Fort Myers, FL for the past 32 years, formerly of Akron, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in Fort Myers. She was born July 14, 1940 in Akron, OH to Roy and Joseph Pennington, now deceased.

Alberta was of the Baptist faith and she was an animal lover.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Paul D. Askew of Fort Myers; loving son, Johnny Hickman (Denise) of Myrtle Beach, SC; stepsons, Bart and Ty; sister, Joann LaBelle (Terry) of Portage Lakes, OH; stepsisters, Cindy and Janet, and stepbrother, Michael; two grandchildren, Brandon Hubner and Eric Hickman; as well as a great granddaughter, Laci Hubner.

No formal services are planned at this time.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Alberta Askew are suggested to A.R.C, 18011 Old Bayshore Rd., North Fort Myers, FL 33917.

    Our deepest sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. John Hickman and the entire family on Birdie’s passing. Birdie and her husband Paul were our neighbor for twenty years and we were very close friends. We did many things together and she will be missed very much.

    My dear,dear sissy..My heart is so broken ,Only God knows the heartache I feel .It will never be the same
    for me not talking to each other everyday,sometimes 2 or 3 times….. Your advise,your forever made me feel so much better on bad days. I will never forget back in the days you taught me how to use my first check book.
    You were the best of the best too everyone. It is now April seems like yesterday . I know God picked out a beautiful spot in his garden for you to rest in peace.
