Andres Antonio Rodriguez

Andres Antonio Rodriguez, 80, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past three months, formerly of Keansburg, NJ, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Cape Coral. He was born November 30, 1938 in Santiago, Dominican Republic to Jose Ramon and Estefania Rodriguez, now deceased.

Andres was of the Catholic faith. He was a beloved New York Mets fan who always supported his team, regardless of the score. A selfless, humble soul who always wanted the best for anyone that surrounded him. A man’s man, a gentleman, an inspiration, a mentor through his actions and his words. A man of God that could never be duplicated. A blueprint for the right way to treat people, regardless of how people treat you. The nicest man we have ever met. The love that oozed out of him was forever unconditional. Our materialistic world was never able to tarnish his being.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Aura Rodriguez of Cape Coral; four loving children, Carmen Rodriguez (Robert Oftedal) of Cape Coral, Jose Rodriguez of Cape Coral, Andres Rodriguez, Jr. (Renee) of Queens, NY, and Rosaura Mejia (Ramiro) of Orlando, FL; three siblings, Ramona Carmen Rodriguez of Dominican Republic, Maria Rodriguez of Manhattan, NY, and Jose Antonio Rodriguez of Dominican Republic; six grandchildren, Robert (wife Lisbeth), Thomas, Brandon, Briana, Nico, Rosalba, and Rafelina; one great grandchild, Jordan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Andres was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral Services will be held 1:30 PM on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916 with Father Patrick O’Connor officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Committal Service to follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
