Athena Glynos

April 20, 1939 - July 16, 2020

Athena Glynos, 81, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 24 years, formerly of Peabody, MA, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born April 20, 1939 in Peabody, MA to Nicholas and Olga Katsapetses, now deceased.

Athena was of the Greek Orthodox faith. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and “Yia Yia” who treated everyone like family. She was the life of the party, always making everyone laugh. Her sense of humor, contagious laughter, and witty charm made it easy to fall in love with her. She will be deeply missed and we will all carry her spirit in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Jack G. Glynos of Cape Coral; two loving children, Elizabeth Gravel of Cape Coral, and George Glynos (Lori) of Essex, MA; four siblings, William Katsapetses (Jackie) of Danvers, MA, Thomas Katsapetses (Cynthia) of Newburyport, MA, Joanne Katsapetses of Swampscott, MA, and Charles Nicholas of NY, NY; six grandchildren, Joshua, Katelyn (Jarrod), Lily, Trevor, Kara, and Adam; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Athena was preceded in death by her beloved son in law, Ronald Gravel.

No formal services are planned at this time.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

    I’m so glad that I saw this. I think that I almost missed it.
    Absolutely gorgeous picture of her and the words fit her to a T.
    I’m so fortunate to hold so many precious memories of her and the whole family.
