Bertha “Bertie” Harriet Brown

Bertha “Bertie” Harriet Brown, 80, a resident of Bokeelia, FL since 2004, formerly of Livermore, ME, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 in Cape Coral, FL. She was born November 6, 1934 in Bolton, NY to George and Julia Bennett, now deceased.
Bertie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Matlacha. She was known for her story telling and the love she had for her children and grandchildren. She led numerous woman’s bible studies. During the summer she taught the Child Evangelism Fellowship five day club. She was a Teacher’s Aide at Livermore Elementary in Livermore, ME. She was known for her hospitality and generous spirit within the church family and community.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Brown of Bokeelia; three loving children, Ricci Brown of Boynton Beach, FL, Sheri Schultz (Robert) of Cape Coral and Roberta “Bobbie” Jones (William) of Cedarville, OH; two sisters, Margaret Olden and Mildred Johnson; six grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Heather Putnam, Brandon Gile, Jay Gile, Kelsey Jones and Colin Jones; as well as 11 great grandchildren, Ethan Brown, Reese Brown, Aldon Brown, Joshua Putnam, Noah Putnam, Teya Gile, Gabrielle Gile, Reagan Gile, Maylene Jones, Maeryn Jones and Carys Jones.

Along with her parents, Bertie was preceded in death by 7 siblings.

Memorial services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Matlacha, 3310 Southwest Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, FL 33991 with William Jones officiating.
