Betty Jeanne Knapp

February 3, 1929 - February 2, 2015

Betty Jeanne Knapp, 85, a Cape Coral resident since 1980, formerly of Olympia Fields, IL and Homewood, IL, passed away on February 2, 2015. She was born on February 3, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Evelyn and Harold N. Golinvaux, now deceased.
Betty attended the University of Illinois where she joined the Tri Delta sorority and gained life-long friendships. She remained active with the Tri Delta organization, which included fundraising for scholarship recipients. Betty was an active member of the Palmetto Pines Country Club, the P.E.O organization and the Republican Women’s committee, as well. She was an avid bridge player and loved to shop. Her circle of friends, were her life; they all meant the world to her. One of her favorite past times was entertaining those friends. She had a love for travel, history and fashion. She was an elegant woman whom offered kind words and a contagious smile. Orchids and roses were her favorite flowers. She loved dogs, especially Rusty, her last and faithful companion. Betty loved her family, and to them she was G-MA.

Betty can now rest in peace, as she gave her life to the Lord. “If we meet and you forget me, you have lost nothing, but if you meet Jesus Christ and forget Him, you have lost everything.” We love you G-MA with all our heart….until we meet again.

She is survived by her loving son, Hal Knapp and his wife Cherie, of Cape Coral; loving grandchildren, Christopher Knapp and his wife Laura of Cape Coral and Mathieu Knapp of Cape Coral; as well as two beautiful great grandchildren, Laina and Kaitlyn.
