Bridget Eileen Weatherley

Bridget Eileen Weatherley (nee Herrick), 59, raised in Kent, OH and a resident of Southwest, FL for the past 35 years, formerly of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born on March 17, 1963.

Bridget was of the Catholic Faith. She was educated in Kent, OH and Fort Lauderdale, FL, then spent time living in Colorado and Arkansas before returning to Florida. She was widely known for her work ethic. People always remarked on Bridget’s zeal and dedication, no matter the task at hand. Her children’s friends all felt like she was a second mother to them. As the youngest sibling in her family of origin, she’ll be remembered as the “caboose” of the six Herrick siblings. Bridget will always be remembered for her long hugs, which everyone loved! Since it had been so long since Bridget and her remaining siblings had been to Ohio for a family reunion, Bridget recently put out the call and the reunion will be held next month. She was an avid lover of the outdoors. Most mornings you could find her tending to her plants or enjoying her coffee while watching the wildlife from her porch. She had such an adventurous spirit. She loved spur of the moment road trips no matter where they lead. Camping was her favorite. Mother’s Day camping trips were a family tradition. But her greatest joy in life was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children, Daniel Weatherley of Fort Myers, Krystal Weatherley of Fort Myers, Willie Weatherley of Fort Myers; mother, Sally Jean (Rankin Herrick) Strickland; siblings, Michael Ann (Herrick) Myers of Avon Park, FL, Jimmy Herrick (Regina) of Cape Coral, FL, and Kevin Herrick of Sebring; as well as 12 grandchildren, and a large, loving extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Willam Weatherley in 2004; daughter, Jessica Lynn Weatherley in 2018; siblings, Thomas Patrick Herrick, and Megan Louise (Herrick) Butler; as well as her father, James Michael Herrick.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Franklin Locks, 1660 S Franklin Lock Rd, Alva, FL 33920.  

Memorial Contributions in memory of Bridget Eileen Weatherley are suggested to her grandchildren via Krystal Weatherley.
