Charlene Nelson Campbell

Charlene Nelson Campbell, 57, a lifelong Lee County resident, passed away on February 9, 2015 in Cape Coral. She was born on September 27, 1957 in Fort Myers to Betty and Charles Nelson, now deceased.
Charlene had a heart for helping others as was evidence by her long career as a teachers assistant and special needs caregiver spanning over 20 years. Charlene’s Christian faith was very important to her and she would often be found greeting people at the doors of churches with a big smile and an even bigger hug. She never met a person that she didn’t know and would often start conversations with perfect strangers and had a way of connecting to people that was rare. Charlene was an amazing women who shared her love and excitement to everyone she met. She was often remembered for her funny stories and infectious laughter that would often leave her audience in tears of laughter or faces of shock.

She is survived by her beloved husband of six years, Jeff Campbell of North Fort Myers; loving children, Kevin McAleer and wife, Gineska of North Fort Myers and Jennifer McAleer and fiancé, Allen Herritt of Lehigh Acres; siblings, Ron Berry of Cape Coral and Claudia Hart of Cape Coral; grandchildren, Zoey Herritt and Jemma Herritt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlene was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Fillyaw.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Fort Myers Christian Outreach Center, 3500 Fowler Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901 with Pastor Lynn Braco officiating.
