Charlotte Kay Berisford

October 25, 1946 - September 25, 2021

Charlotte Kay Berisford, 74, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 10 years, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 in Cape Coral. She was born October 25, 1946 in Wheeling, WV to Charles and Alice Emma Lyons, now deceased.

Charlotte was of the Christian faith and attended Cape Christian of Cape Coral. She was a hard worker having both owned and worked in the dance world for over 35 years but above all she was an amazing mother, grandmother, dog grandma to her BFF Jaxon, and nana to everybody in the dance world. She always had everybody’s best interest in mind, sharing kind words, encouragement, and motivation and always inspiring people to be the best that they could be. She has always been a light even on her hardest of days and truly made a lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with, and always made an effort to support everyone in any way possible even if she couldn’t physically be there. Nana was truly one of the strongest people having to battle illness her whole life, but no matter what came her way she always looked her best (never leaving the house without makeup and hair done, even going into surgery) and always had the best mindset and a strong faith in God. She had a sass and spunk to her but a pure genuine heart of gold that demonstrated sacrificial love just as Jesus did. Although she is no longer with us, she is shining bright in heaven where she no longer has to suffer. She will never be forgotten having left behind the sweetest memories, advice, recipes and loads of love to cherish for a lifetime, and we know she will forever walk along us. We have faith that she will continue to cheer each and every one of us on from heaven as she always did here on earth.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Misty Christopher of Cape Coral; siblings, Sandy Junkins of Wheeling, WV, Aletia White (Bill) of Bridgeport, OH, Mike Palmer (Lynn) of Wheeling, WV, and Buddy Palmer of Cape Coral; as well as grandchildren, Colby Christopher, and Marleigh Christopher and her grand dog, Jaxon.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her brother, John Palmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details to be announced www.MullinsMemorial.com

No words will ever be able to express how much Char has mentioned to our family. She saw in my children a love fir dance and brought that out in them. Michael was always a challenge but I know she loved him. Melanie learned so much in dealing with small children and has a wonderful career in children’s speech. They can stand before people with confidence and they credit Char with that quality. The many hours we worked together and had so much time to laugh and solve all the world problems. I am sure Char is going to be a guardian Angel to all she has touched. Love to Misty and kids and her brothers and sisters.

I spent as much time with Charlotte and Misty growing up as I did with my own family. Charlotte instilled in me what it means to be a strong, hardworking woman and how to stand up for what you believe in. She was a role model to all of use at Dance Dimensions. She loved all of us and supported our future decisions. Her tough love was out of love and knowing that we could do more and be more. Charlotte you will be truly missed and I wish I could have hugged you one last time.

Charlotte was such a caring and loving person. Charlotte opened up her home to me when I was needing a place to stay. We had some good laughs together and we could also vent to each other without any judgement. Charlotte would help anyone at anytime if possible. She surely will be missed.

I can still remember the first day we met Nana. She was such a great conversationalist, a cheerleader, someone who knew when someone needed a laugh, so wise and above all someone who loved all. She was always there to answer any question no matter how small. She is missed more than she will ever know. She has impacted more lives than can ever be expressed. Her smile instilled in all of our hearts. I will truly miss our random laughs and conversations. I will miss the little hugs that may seem so small to some but were ones that made you feel home. Nana, We all Love You and will continue to Love you until we see you again….

    Misty and family,
Our sincere condolences to you and your family. I was introduced to your mom by your uncle Buddy Palmer only a few months ago. Even though I didn’t know her for that long we hit it off immediately. She was kind, knowledgeable and very helpful to me. We shared a lot of medical stuff between us which was helpful. Even though she is gone she is not forgotten. Rest In Peace Charlotte.

    To Charlotte’s family:
I knew her through high school. We were good friends for several years, then drifted apart after graduation to pursue our future lives. She was always bubbly, and had that beautiful smile on her face. I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Fly high and RIP.

So many wonderful memories with Aunt Char, from countless hours at dancing school, to our many trips together, spending hours talking in her car. I will cherish our memories and her generous, kind soul. Though her time on earth was cut too short, my heart is happy thinking of her reunion with Grandma. Sending lots of love and hugs to her proudest accomplishments, Misty, Colby and Marleigh. She beamed with pride every time she mentioned you. ❤️
