Christopher “Chris” Charles Cordrey

July 26, 1960 - April 21, 2020

Christopher “Chris” Charles Cordrey, 59, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2003, formerly of Phoenix, AZ, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born July 26, 1960 in Canton, OH to William and Nancy Cordrey, now deceased.

Chris will be remembered as a genuine, kind, caring, loving man who always went out of his way to make you feel special. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, an uncle, a friend. A man who loved life, who enjoyed sharing stories with anyone he met, a Papa who cherished the memories created when golfing with his son and granddaughter. Meeting his life-long partner and wife at school in October of 1976, it set him on an unforgettable journey.  Following in his father’s footsteps, he began a career in aerospace machining at May Industries in 1978. Continuing for 25 years, he was known as an expert in his field, a premier machinist in his industry. Fate would close a chapter in his life, and in 2003, he moved to Cape Coral, FL, to start again writing the next chapter and building yet another career. He quickly found his place in his family’s pool construction business, giving another 17 years in the quest of perfecting another craft. His legacy will live on in our hearts and minds, the memories will never be forgotten, and will always be loved by his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kathy Cordrey of Cape Coral; loving son, Christopher Charles Cordrey, II (Erica) of Cape Coral; sister, Stacy Cordrey of Cape Coral; brother in law, Bill Graham of Phoenix, AZ; father in law, George Christy of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Alexa Cordrey and Nathan Champlain; great granddaughter, Raelynn Champlain; many nieces and nephews including, Michelle Vamvakaris (Peter), Mandy Garcia, Andrea Petrie (Chris), Logan Cordrey, and Tyler Cordrey; great nephews, Devin Sirianni, Trey Sirianni, and Kaiden Ryan; numerous in-laws and extended family; as well as Kaiser, the rescue dog.

Chris was preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Graham in 2012; as well as a brother, William “Jeff” Jeffrey Cordrey in 2013.

My heart aches deeply. He was always the most happy and loving of all. Always smiling…from ear to ear. Genuine, caring and would do anything for anyone. I can hear him saying “hey A!” May he rest with his family who met him in Heaven with open arms. ♥️ I miss them all, so very much.
