Clair “Buck” Ralph Heidler

March 14, 1945 - March 16, 2020

Clair Ralph Heidler, 75, a resident of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Cumming, GA, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born March 14, 1945 in Sewickly, PA to Ralph and Marie Heidler, now deceased.

Known to friends and family as “Buck”, he grew up in Imperial ,PA excelling at football, baseball, and band, and loved spending as much time as possible hunting at the family hunting camp in Erie , PA.

Buck received his degree in electrical engineering at Penn Technical Institute and had a long and prosperous career designing critical TV and computer components for companies such as GTE, Sanyo, and Siemans.

Buck always loved to fish whether it was in his canal or hundreds of miles out at sea. He instilled this deep love in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren patiently baiting and changing thousands and thousands of hooks through the years.

He retired to his dream home in 2011 with his wife/best friend and their beloved Yorkie The Katie Dog. His daily saying was “It’s another day in paradise” and he would spend them watching the many birds that frequented his canal with a special hello each morning to their daily visitor Bart the Anhinga, working in the yard, or training his Betta fish The Donald.

Buck was a friend and mentor to his children who often sought his advice and he was at their side when needed even if he had to drive all night. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a dedicated patriot that had a deep love for his country and a unwavering belief in his president Donald Trump wearing his red MEGA hat on a daily basis. Fox News was a big part of his life and he welcomed his friends Sean, Judge Jeanine, and Rush into his home in the day on the radio and at night on the TV.

Buck was preceded in death by his sister Myrna and his granddaughter Ashley. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Danielle Heidler of Cape Coral; three loving children, Kim Brooks (Chris) of Opelika, AL, Kelly(baby girl) Godfrey (Ricky Wilbanks) of Cumming, GA, and RC Heidler (Amanda), also of Cumming, GA; seven grandchildren; Amber, DJ, Damian, Stormy, David, Michael, and Isabella; as well as seven great grandchildren; Kambree, Noah (Dexter), Klayton (baby Klay), Caiden, Jewel, Broley, and Jayce.

Buck was loved by his family more that words could ever express and there will be a huge void in our lives everyday that he is not here. While we take some comfort knowing we will see him again one day, he is missed so very much every second that goes by.

No formal services are planned at this time.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Clair Ralph Heidler are suggested to The Shriners, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

First, my prayers for peace and comfort are uplifted for Buck’s entire extended family.
I first met Buck when he was hired into GTE Sylvania/Philco in Batavia, NY and it wasn’t long until he became a true and trusted friend. Soon his lovely wife and then two young daughters, then residing in Attica, NY) would become close family friends. He definitely made my “one-of-the-real-good-guys” list.
Even after we both departed Batavia, NY. I remained in touch and even visited them when in both both Stone Mt., GA and in Cumming, GA., at which time, “RC” came along as a son.
May the many good and great memories we share of Buck, sustain us all during this difficult time.
