Clarence Daniel Crowder

January 9, 1950 - December 9, 2020

Clarence Daniel Crowder, 70, a three year resident of Lehigh Acres, FL, formerly of Hillsboro, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in Lehigh Acres. He was born January 9, 1950 in Jacksonville, IL to John and Myrtle Crowder, now deceased.

Clarence was a member of Hillsboro Free Methodist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the IL Department of Transportation.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, his brothers in arms, a wide variety of music, and getting lost in a good book.  

He is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta Crowder of Lehigh Acres; three loving children, Andrea Decker of Jamestown, NY, John Crowder (Ami) of Lehigh Acres, and Danielle Crowder (Chad Pinkerton) of Lehigh Acres; two siblings, Harold Crowder (Betty) of Jacksonville, IL, and Jo Ann Dorris (Joe), also of Jacksonville, IL; five grandchildren, Lexi, Cheyenne, Lily, Grace, and Matthew; one great grandchild, Morrigan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by two siblings, Monte Crowder and Pat Cottingham.

Graveside Services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL at a later date. Details to be announced via www.MullinsMemorial.com

    We are so very sorry to hear about Clarence. I’m very glad that we got a chance to catch up the last time he called. We fondly remember our dear friend, the good ole days when we were all so young, and the many wonderful times we had together. Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time.     So sorry for your loss. Clarence was a wonderful man. He was so proud to be a Vietnam veteran. We worked together for many years. I will pray for all of his family.
