Colonel Dudley Sherrill Bynum, USAF, Retired, 84, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL, since 2011, formerly of Nashville, TN, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born October 3, 1935 in Woodbury, TN to Earnest and Geneva Bynum, now deceased.
Dudley was of the Baptist faith and was a retired Colonel of The United States Airforce. He was Past Worshipful Master and Secretary of Doric Lodge No. 732, F&AM, 33rd Degree Master Mason, member of the Nashville Scottish Rite Bodies, member of the Al Menah Shrine, American Legion, and many other Organizations. He was a former Treasurer of Faith Methodist Church in Nashville, attended Vanderbilt University, graduated from Cumberland University, and was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 29 years, Beverly S. Bynum of North Fort Myers; three loving children, Dudley S. Bynum, Jr. (Larry) of Nashville, TN, Debra B. Shinkle of Smyrna, TN, and Terri B. Deal (Scott) of Murfreesboro, TN; stepson, Robertson J. Short II of Nokomis, FL; two siblings, Mina Ann Walker (Chester) of Clarksville, TN, and Michael Lynn Bynum (Mikey) of Nashville, TN; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; as well as Dovie the dog.
No formal services are planned at this time.
