Craig Christopher Thompson, 42, a Ft. Myers resident since 1999, formerly of Lakeland, FL, passed away Friday, September 20, 2019, at his family’s residence on Little Gasparilla Island surrounded by those he loved. He was born on June 10, 1977, in Lakeland, FL.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Jaimee Thompson of Ft. Myers and their children Jude and Eiselee; his parents, Chuck and Tinker Thompson of Gasparilla Island; sister, Brittany Kay (Jason) of Lakeland and their children Lauren and Ian; In-laws, Tom and Deborah Strachan of Ft. Myers; as well as two brother-in-law’s, Scott Strachan (Meredith) and their children Reagan and Tate of Ft. Myers and Shae Strachan and fiancé, Vanessa Lopez of Breckenridge, CO.
Craig attended Santa Fe Catholic School in Lakeland, Florida where he participated in soccer, track, and swimming, then South Fork High School in Stuart, Florida. He earned his BA in Environmental Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University. He was a United States Geological Survey (USGS) employee where he worked as a Hydraulic Technician. Craig will forever be remembered as a loving son, a devoted husband, a caring father, and a friend to all.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Citygate Ministries, 1735 Jackson St., Ft. Myers, FL 33901 with Pastor David Pleasant officiating. A casual reception will follow at Millennial Brewing Company, 1811 Royal Palm Ave., Fort Myers, FL 33901.
Any Memorial Contributions in memory of Craig Thompson are suggested to be made out to Jaimee Thompson and will be directed to an educational fund benefiting his surviving children Jude and Eiselee.
