Cruz DeLeon

Cruz DeLeon, 71, a resident of Fort Myers, FL for the past 55 years, formerly of San Benito, TX, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 in Fort Myers. She was born May 3, 1950 in San Benito, TX to Crescenciano and Petra Salas DeLeon, now deceased.

Cruz was of the Catholic faith attending The Rock Church in Fort Myers, who also had attended Jesus the Worker Church. She was a Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend to many. Known to many as “Chris”, she was a very caring and loving individual, who showed no hesitation to help family and others when able. In being the person she was assisted in raising her grandchildren. “Always Remembered and Never Forgotten”.

She is survived by her loving children, DeLeon Orboll Mendez of Nashville, TN, Albert Mendez of Fort Myers, Judy Ann DeLeon Holguin of Lehigh Acres, FL, ReFugio Flores, III of Fort Myers, and Christal Marie DeLeon Flores of Fort Myers; sisters, Irma Martinez, Emma Cervantez, Guadalupe DeLeon, and Maria Elena DeLeon; brothers, Jose DeLeon, Crescenciano DeLeon, Jr., Jesus Salas DeLeon, Edward DeLeon, and Leonardo DeLeon; as well as 21 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

Cruz was preceded in death by her son, Marcos Antonio Flores.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Jesus the Worker, 881 Nuna Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33905 with Father Jose del Olmo officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33916.

    Mom,
    I know you and I had our ups/downs but because we are so much alike especially physically. No one really understood what you and I had as mother/daughter. You showed me to become the mother I am.. And because of you, our generations bloodline will live on
