Darrell S. Ramsden
Darrell Stacy Ramsden, 86, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021. He was born in Everett, Massachusetts to Fred and Daisy Ramsden. He was the husband of Carolyn Ramsden since 1988.
Darrell served 22 years in the US Navy, for which he shared a lifelong love. He spent 17 years on submarines and 5 years as a Naval Recruiter. He also served in Korea and Vietnam and received numerous metals. He was a member of United States Submarine Veterans Inc. (USSVI) and formed Barb Base in Cape Coral in 1996. He was a member of Moose Lodge 2199 for 31 years. He held an office for 16 years, 3 of which as Governor. He was also known for his chocolate cakes, which he baked for the WOTM bake sales for many years. He was also on the Honor Guard for Hope Hospice.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Paul S. Ramsden, and Jeff Ramsden, both of PA; daughter, Gail Radford (Willie) of Fort Myers, FL; stepchildren, Lisa Davis (Bob) of NC, and Jeffrey Solomon (Shaun) of NC; grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Nathan, and Jenna; great grandsons, Aiden, Jaxson, and Jayden; as well as step grandchildren, Josh, Will, Rachel, and Jaclyn.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Moose Lodge 2199, 155 Santa Barbara Blvd North, Cape Coral, FL 33993. Internment with Military Honors will take place 11:25 AM on January 11, 2022 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.

I do and will miss my Daddy, even though I worried that it would come one day. My Dad was exceptional as a father. When we were young, he definitely instilled early on the importance of discipline and although I thought he was a little strict when I was young, I thanked him for caring so much to take the time and explain why we needed correcting and he thanked me for saying so because it bothered him after he would do . I reminded him that I wouldn’t have changed a thing and have mostly fond memories growing up. Dad would take my 2 brothers and myself shopping for Christmas gifts. He gave us the money and let us pick out gifts for each family member. I loved that he would do that. If we were sick he was right there helping Mom. I definitely was a Daddy’s girl, we understand each other when no one else did, we both were left handed and he had the most beautiful handwriting. We both also would like to tease each other and I will miss that so much. My Dad was big into sports and remembered names and what sate they began. I would go visit on Father’s Day and Golf would be on he enjoyed so he enjoyed me watching with him and I hope didn’t mind all questions. He took us to our first Phillies baseball & that was a great day! He taught us right & wrong along with manners & most importantly he shared his belief in God, so very fortunate for that, I will forever be grateful for that. Dad also had a few movies that were his favorites and although we didn’t want to watch then, he made us and I am continuing that legacy. His favorite music singer Neil Diamond, well we have the words memorized and now the his music. My Dad made me the proud patriotic daughter I am today, of him and our beautiful US of America. Although I still can’t believe you are really gone from this life, it gives me one important reason to see you again in Heaven !!! You taught me to never say goodbye when ending a phone call but instead, I say “ see you later “. Dad thanks for being a big part of who I am & I will always love you but I see you later on the other side.❤️❤️❤️

Gary & I are so sorry to hear of the passing of Darrell. Our deep condolences. We met years
ago when I worked at Levitz Furniture with Carolyn and I was fortunate to have attended their
wedding. What a beautiful couple! Over the years, Gary worked with Darrell on various Veterans Projects.
He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his charitable work.

Terry and I are very sadden by the passing of a true friend. When Darrell Ramsden was your friend, you definitely had one of the best. He was a mannered man. Never heard him raise his voice or show anger. He was a very kind man with a gentle soul. Darrell would always stand up for what he belived in. He was a God fearing and Gentle man. You will definitely be missed my Friend. ❤️❤️ I did love his chocolate cakes he always made sure to let me know when he brought one to any gathering. He was one of the best, most honorable and most honest men to hold the office of Governors to the Moose 2199 of Cape Coral, Fl. Ever had. Rest In Peace to our Friend. Darrell Ramsden. I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Darrell (aka Gail’s dad).
He was so kind to us. He would bake us his famous chocolate cake and bring it up-to our work.
He always had a smile and kind word.
