David Eugene Kirchner

September 20, 1945 - August 19, 2021

David Eugene Kirchner, 75, a resident of Southwest Florida for 30 years, formerly of Cumberland, MD, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born September 20, 1945 in Cumberland, MD to Roy Irvin and Ruth Ella Kirchner, now deceased

David was a member of First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, FL.  He served Jesus with his whole life:  he served in the U.S. Army, he taught first grade Sunday school for 14 years, and was passionate about worship and missions.  He adored his wife and was a loving father and grandpa.  David worked for NCR as a customer engineer for 56 years until his retirement this past January.   

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Norma Kirchner; children, Tracy Moser (Tim) of Hagerstown, MD, Brian Kirchner of Hagerstown, MD, Shay Cole (Billy) of Coral Springs, FL, and Shannon Lewis (Amy) of Lakeland, FL; siblings, Patricia Stevens, Richard Kirchner, Mary Huff, James Kirchner, Jean Cameron, and Melinda Kirchner; grandchildren, Morgan (Noah), Zack (Sasha), Brennen (Cassidy), Mason, Sydney, Carter, Peyton, Ethan, Aiden, Benjamin, and Ryleigh.

David was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Kirchner in 1961.

Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 25, 2021 at First Assembly of God, 4701 Summerlin Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33919.

Memorial Contributions in memory of David Eugene Kirchner can be made to First Assembly of God, 4701 Summerlin Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33919.  Those donations will go toward building water wells in Africa, a project that David felt very strongly about.

    My heart is aching for all of you.I have been praying for you and will continue to lift you up. May the Lord give you strength and peace in the difficult days ahead. Read in the Psalms especially Psalm 23, 46, and 91.Jesus loves you and I love you. Lord we don’t know what to do but our eyes are on you.Jesus please send your angels to comfort Norma and her family.     I had the privilege of working side by side with David, David’s wealth of knowledge and experience was a prime example of a dedicate NCR Customer Engineer. We will miss our NCR brother who dedicated 56+ years with us. My Sincere condolences goes out to his wife Norma and family.
