David Thomas Purdy

April 26, 1938 - May 14, 2022

David Thomas Purdy, 84, a resident of North Fort Myers, FL for the past 22 years, formerly of Fort Wayne, IN and Terre Haute, IN, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 in North Fort Myers. He was born April 26, 1938 in Terre Haute, IN to William and Daisy Purdy, now deceased.

David was of the Pentecostal faith. He worked in construction all his life either drywall or chimney work. He was a loner but loved all his family. He was willing to help anyone when he could. He loved to travel and did most of his work out of town with his father or family.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Maxine Purdy of North Fort Myers; two loving children, Charles Purdy of North Fort Myers, and Cynthia Brown of Wauseon, OH; grandchildren, John Stover, Charles Ethan LeCoque, Joshua Purdy and Monica Brown; brother, Darrell Purdy of Terre Haute; as well as several nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

David was preceded in death by his sister, Olive McNabney; as well as five brothers, Charles (Jack), Donald Scott, Norman, James and Bob Purdy.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at New Hope Ministry Church, 1167 N. Seminary Street, Roanoke, IN 46783.

Memorial Contributions in memory of David Thomas Purdy are suggested to family.

    I’m going to miss you Dad, you were a good man. You taught me a lot and I appreciate everything you’ve ever done for me. I have your backyard all set up for feeding station for the animals. I hope you can see all the squirrels out in the yard you could have some good conversations conversations with them.
