David William Scull

October 6, 1952 - February 2, 2022

David William Scull, 69, a Lee County resident for twenty-six years, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Lehigh Acres, FL. He was born October 6, 1952, in Miami, FL to William George Scull and Lillian “Mickey” Fox, now deceased.

He had a ridiculous sense of humor and could be silly and goofy at the drop of a hat. He was stubborn and pig-headed to a fault. He loved with his whole heart and was fiercely protective of his family. He enjoyed just quietly sitting alone. He loved watching the Hallmark Channel and any Paranormal ghost story he could find. He drove a wrecker for most of his life and watched Highway Thru Hell as a kind of nostalgic tribute. He was very proud of our children and loved them to the moon and back. He loved the water and loved to fish. When he smiled it lit up his entire face. His eyes seemed to always have a mischievous twinkle in them as if he were up to something. He dropped out of high school with three months to go because he was ‘bored’. Took his GED a short time later, without studying, and passed it with flying colors. He was very smart, but extremely stubborn. He could listen to an old car and tell you what was wrong with it. He was my best friend, soul-mate, and the love of my life. It was far too soon for him to go.

He was our rock. The sun in which we all orbited. He was the comic relief, the shoulder we all leaned on, and the well of knowledge we all drew from. He was our guiding star, our teacher, and protector. He was “The Old Saying Goes” dictionary that always seemed to apply in any given situation. He is irreplaceable.

“Loving Father and Husband” load of bull. He was a stubborn, bull-headed old goat. He never listened to anything anyone ever told him, set in his ways, and the only thing he ever fought over was money. But he was the best dad anyone could have asked for.

Big Chief-fartum-bottum-smellum-much, King of the Great Unwashed, give ‘em hell up there in Heaven.

My father was one of the best men I ever knew. Anyone else who knew him would agree he was the best of us. He cared more than anyone and did everything he could to make those he cared for happy and safe. He will never be forgotten and his memory will never be tarnished.

David is survived by his loving wife, Debra Scull of Lehigh Acres, FL; children, Candice Couch of Memphis, TN, Tamara Williams of Idaho, Chelsea Staples-Scull of Lehigh Acres, FL, Amanda Scull of Lehigh Acres, FL and Matthew Scull of Lehigh Acres, FL; sister Deborah Scull of Melbourne, FL; brother Jon Scull of Miami, FL; as well as a grandchild, Nicholas Couch.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Alexander William Scull.
