Deborah S. Howard
Deborah Sue Howard, 68, a resident of Lee County, FL since 1988, formerly of Whiteland, IN, passed away January 24, 2019 in Cape Coral. She was born August 28, 1950 in New Castle, IN to Larry and Doris Gabbard, Jr., now deceased.
Deborah had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized by her son Larry. While raising five children, Deborah became a Medical Assistant and worked for St Mary’s Hospital in Indianapolis IN and then Lee Memorial Health System in Insurance billing until she retired in 2017. She loved the beach, crossword puzzles, music and her family. Her laughter was contagious. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
She is survived by five loving children, Larry C. Howard, Lori A. Jans, Michael A. Howard, Jerry L. Ratliff, Jr., and Deborah Michele Ratliff; two sisters, Kathy Tuttle and Naomi Jean Hurst, as well as grandchildren, Ethan Howard, Elena Howard, Grant Howard, Ian Jans, Carley Jans, Jessica Gerbec, Michael T. Howard, Vanessa Ratliff, Austin Ratliff, Jacob Ratliff, Michael R. Pontius JR. and great grandchildren, Brendan Lee Mitchell and Scott Gerbec the 3rd.
Deborah was preceded in death by three siblings, Norman Ranae Gabbard, Della Joan Gabbard and Larry Michael Gabbard; an aunt, Conda L. Hubbard; as well as a grandchild, Kirstyn Amber Ratliff.
Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Mullins Memorial, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd,Fort Myers, FL 33916.
