Deidra Kay Corbin

February 21, 1977 - August 7, 2021

Deidra Kay Corbin (44), a resident of Lehigh Acres, FL for the last ten years and formerly of Clewiston, FL passed away Saturday August 7, 2021 in Lehigh Acres. She was born February 21, 1977 in Clewiston.

Deidra’s loving parents, Dale and Shirley Kelley, raised her in the Pentecostal faith. The love and light she showed the world truly reflected such. She was a beautiful, free-spirited soul who had a limitless amount of love. Deidra was a talented individual who did many different things in her life. Deidra made her creativity a career for some years by pursuing a cosmetology license. Deidra did nail art for many years before finally pursuing what her heart told her to do, which was work with wildlife. Ultimately, Deidra’s life mission was to help and save as many animals as possible, as well as educate others on how to do so. Deidra would continue to work towards her passion at a local wildlife care center saving many animals throughout her time there. Deidra would go as far as bringing baby squirrels, owls, and many other animals home to nurture them until they were old enough or healed to go back into the wild. Deidra was what many would call a modern day hippie, she loved nature and had nothing but love to give to every person she came into contact with. Deidra is still everywhere you look – the warmth of the sun is her love, the rain is her reminding you better days are to come, and the breeze is her whispering sweet words to her loved ones.

She is survived by her loving mother, Shirley Kelley of Clewiston, FL; children, Taylor Corbin of Ocala, FL, and Jordan Corbin of Raleigh, NC; siblings, Deanna Helms of Naples, FL, Duane Kelley (Missy) of Clewiston, FL and Daniel Kelley (Terry) of Pulaski, TN; as well as grandchildren, Nova Wiggins and Nora Wiggins of Ocala, FL.

Her father, Dale Kelley, preceded Deidra in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Church of God in Clewiston, FL at 525 San Luiz Ave. on August the 28th at 11:00 A.M. We ask that you wear a touch of purple to honor her memory if possible.

For those interested, flower orders can be placed with the Clewiston Florist and sent to the church’s address listed above. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Deidra Kay Corbin are suggested to McCarthys Wildlife Sanctuary, https://www.mccarthyswildlife.com.
