Dora T. Coronato

April 23, 1927 - January 11, 2019

Dora T. Coronato, 91, a resident of Cape Coral, formerly of Pompano Beach, FL and Brooklyn, NY, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 in Cape Coral. She was born April 23, 1927 in Bronx, NY to Rocco and Margherita Basciani, now deceased.

Dora was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Cape Coral.Dora met her husband Victor, through her father. They were married for 65 yrs. Before getting married, she worked on Jewelry assembly and painting at Castle Cliff Jewelers in NYC. She worked in real estate sales for EZ realty in Brooklyn NY. She also established a successful suit retail business from home in Brooklyn NY. In addition, she worked as a catering chef for Jacques Catering in Brooklyn N.Y. Dora loved still life painting in oil. She loved to cook and bake delicious but difficult items. She loved her family, especially the children, she had a profound gift of ministering to them. Dora never drove and walked everywhere she could.

Dora became a Gulf Coast Village assisted living resident in February 2016. Mom loved Jesus, her family, and the Gulf coast assisted living staff and friends. Anyone that meet mom was profoundly affected by her contagious loving kindness and eagerness to participate. Mom would tell us to remember to love Jesus, be forgiving and you will never die only move to your new home with Jesus, in your glorified body!

She is survived by her two loving children, Edward Coronato (Doreen) of Cape Coral and Dr. Lori Victoria Coronato and her partner, Silvana of Manhattan, NY; one sister, Rose Ambrosecchio of Brooklyn, NY; four grandchildren, Eric, Kerriann, Paul and Eve; five great grandchildren, Isabella, Lucas, Ian, Hadley and Amelia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Coronato in 2013; and two brothers, George and Phillip Basciani.

Memorial Services will be held 2:30 PM on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Gulf Coast Village, 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33991 with Pastor Bob Inkenbrandt officiating.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Dora T. Coronato are suggested to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Cir., Fort Myers, FL 33908.
