Norm and I met as Sophmores in High School. We were both new to Bogan and became fast friends. We shared a lot of Music. Norm was a great guitar player. He was able to hear it and play it. We ran around a bit after high school in Jamesport Missouri playing music and just being young men. His Grampa and Grandma gave us chores to do and fed us…..great people!
Anyway, as time does, we went to our different lives.
I don’t know what happened, but as far as a I’m concerned, he went far too young. My condolences to his family and friends. I’ll never forget him.

I am truly sorry to hear of Norm’s passing and my heart goes out to his family. I met Norm about 6 years ago. He came into my store, picked up a guitar, and out of nowhere he started playing Dixie Highway by Journey. I recognized it and said to him him that is Journey and Neal Schon is my guitar god. His face lit up and he said Neal was his guitar god too. We instantly bonded and must have spent the whole day talking and jamming some of our favorite Journey songs together. He would stop by my store from time to time and we would always have long conversations about music, guitars, and Neal Schon. Norm was a good man, a good friend, and an exceptional guitar player.
Find peace my friend, I will miss you

Norm has been my good friend for 35 years. He always had that winning smile and his signature chuckle which was a window into his heart. He took life as it came without complaint. How sad I am and how Cheri’s heart must be forever broken.

Norm was one of my dearest friends for 40 years. I was so happy when he and Cheri moved to Cape Coral so that I could visit with them on my trips to southwest Florida. I grew up in Spartanburg, SC, and in the late 1970’s I heard about this great new guitar player in town who was studying at Sherman College of Chiropractic. One night when I was in a nightclub watching some of my friends playing in a band there some guy came up to me and said “So you play the Fender Bass?” Not hello my name is Norm or anything normal. I knew right away that this guy had a great sense of humor and he kept me laughing forevermore. I miss you buddy, and I literally think of you every day. My heart goes out to Cheri, Tommy and his entire family.
