Dwight Wayne Killian

Dwight (Butch) Wayne Killian, 71, of Estero, FL passed away peacefully on November 5, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 23, 1945 in Massillon, OH to Emanuel Sheridan and Retha Rebecca (Rassler) Killian, now deceased.

Dwight retired from General Motors in Mansfield, OH where he served as President of the local UAW 549. Recently he enjoyed his part time position with Gull Wing Resort in Ft. Myers Beach, FL. He was a member of Estero United Methodist Church. Dwight was known as a hard working family man and was always counted on as a good friend. He enjoyed boating, golfing, fishing and having neighborhood parties where he cooked for family and friends.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Marla Kay Swihart of Estero, FL; four children, Carol (Mitchell) Dingus of Lexington, OH, Todd (Kim) Killian of Columbus, OH, Scott (Jessica) Killian of Brunswick, OH, Tiffany (Damien) Jackson of Columbus, OH; one brother, Kenneth Killian of Dalton, OH; as well as seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Vivian Santmyer and Patricia Archer and his brother, Joseph Killian.

Dwight’s memorial service will be held 7:00 PM on November 11, 2016 at First Baptist Massillon, 20 Sixth Street SE, Massillon, OH. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 6:00 PM until service time.

There will be a Celebration of Life held 4:00 PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Thahiti Mobile Home Village Club House.
