Edna Espiritu Lunario

May 22, 1955 - November 5, 2019

Edna Espiritu Lunario, 64, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past year, formerly of Fort Washington, MD, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born May 22, 1955 in Quezon, Philippines to Pedro and Remedios Espiritu, now deceased.

First and foremost, Edna was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was selfless and tough – she always thought of her family before she thought of herself. After 15 accomplished years of Federal Service she retired May of 2017 from the U.S. Department of State. She loved travelling, cooking, music, biking and long walks, collecting (authentic – mind you!) designer bags, and tending to her beautiful garden. Her legacy and memories will continue through her family. She will be dearly missed for many wonderful things – her laughter, her smile, her amazing cooking, her singing, and her wit (true Filipino mom-style). We will miss mocking her and laughing about it with her. She loved her family with all her heart and soul. She was of devout Christian faith.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Henry Lunario of Cape Coral; two loving children, Jinky Lunario Azarcon (Jose) of Dallas, TX, and Jed Lunario (David) of Stuttgart, Germany; nine siblings, Tessie Adona, Nimfa Abuy, Miriam Domingo, Oscar Espiritu, Joel Espiritu, Rick Espiritu, Pio Espiritu, Robert Espiritu, and Voltaire Espiritu; as well as three grandchildren, Arin, Aizia, and Aysis.

Edna was preceded in death by a son, Eric Espiritu Lunario.

Funeral Services will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Mullins Memorial, 1056 NE 7th Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33909 with Father Paul Nguyen officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 4:00 PM until the time of service.

Proverbs 3:17-18 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.ย She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for you…We may not understand why…, We begin to remember not just that you left us in this world, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget… until we meet again Tita Edna…

I will never forget our life with the NRL Federal Credit Union. Life is too short. I will missed you.

    To Henry and family,
Edna was my friend. We worked together in IO/C, State Dept. She was my co-lead one several conferences. She was a thoughtful person and would always look out for her fellow office mates. Being a retired Army person, she and I would compare the many places Henry and her were station. Henry, my condolences and for your loss. My heart goes out to you and yours.

My Dear Friend and Comare. I spent many days after work during the summer month when we lived in Maryland while the kids were young. She taught me many things by example as young mom myself. I enjoyed our many conversations. Beautiful smile, beautiful soul and strong values of Love. Rest In Peace my friend. We love you.

bro Henry and sis edna: remember those days where we learned the beautiful words and promises of our Lord Jesus in bible study that absence from the body is presence with the Lord ro those who have received Him as Lord and Savior. Physical death is just a door to eternity which He promised to us..Blessed are those who believed though have not seen the eternity He promised
