Emil Lapenia Mayo

January 6, 1965 - July 12, 2020

Emil Lapenia Mayo, 55, a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past two years, formerly of West Palm Beach, FL and Irvine, CA, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born January 6, 1965 in Honolulu, HI.

Emil was of the Christian faith. He served in the United States Army as well as the United States Marines. After serving in the military, he worked for the well-known marine biologist, Jacque-Yves Cousteau testing scuba diving equipment, until Cousteau’s death. He was a hands-on father and helped coach his daughter’s pee-wee soccer team. He was very devoted to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Silvena Mayo of Cape Coral; loving parents, Myron and Merline Mayo of Cape Coral; daughter, Bria Mayo of Orlando; sisters, Karen Peebles (Nathaniel) of Cape Coral, and Kristine Webb (Christopher), also of Cape Coral; nieces, Ashley and Sasha; also of Salisbury, niece, Shaquille;  as well as Milo and Lena, the dogs.

    I remember the first day we met for the first time uncle Myron n aunt Merline you and Tina just loved to Maryland .. wow I also enjoyed going to the family Luau n you blowing the sea shell..
