Ernest Garfield Ragar

Ernest Garfield Ragar, 78, a North Ft. Myers resident for the past 12 years, formerly of Orlando, FL, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 in Ft. Myers. He was born May 15, 1937 in Franklin, KY to Ernest and Frances Ragar, now deceased.

Ernest attended the Judah Church, Ft. Myers and was a US Air Force veteran. He was involved with security for several companies and played a huge part in the building and development of Disney in Orlando. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ernest never met a person he couldn’t talk to. We Love You and will miss the special moments we have shared with you.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Phyllis S. Ragar of North Ft. Myers; two daughters, Tina Darlene Lewandowski and husband Luke of Winter Garden, FL and Gayle Kirkland and husband Jimmy of North Ft. Myers; six siblings, Ray “Bud” Ragar and wife Sue of Murphy, NC, Robert Ragar and Dar of Nevada, Larry Ragar and Mary Lynn of Leesburg, FL, Jack Ragar of Groveland, FL, Steve Ragar of Crystal River, FL and Laverne Ragar of Clermont, FL; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Michael, Daniel, Brandon and Tiffany; ten great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jared, Skylar, Charley, Madison, Makenli, Tyler, Little Renee, Jasmine and Jadyn; three brothers-in-law, Grayson Shirley and wife Sharon of Pineville, KY, Joel Shirley and wife Sabrina of Ocilla, GA and Tim Shirley and wife Vickie of Camden, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by a daughter, Dale Renee Ragar.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Judah Church,10960 Orange River Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33905. The Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM up til the hour of service.
