Ernest Linwood Miner

March 14, 1955 - February 2, 2022

Ernest Linwood Miner, 66, a new resident of North Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Windsor, NY, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in Fort Myers, FL. He was born March 14, 1955, in Naples, Italy to James and Felicia Miner, now deceased.

Ernest was of the Catholic faith. He was an avid hunter, good refrigeration technician, loved the beach and fishing in his beloved Florida which reminded him of Italy. He loved his citrus and palm plants and any type of plant. The truth be known, cooking was another talent of his and he enjoyed feeding family and friends as well. Ernie took pride in his Italian heritage and enjoyed sci-fi movies and the good old Star Trek episodes. Our favorite music station was 104.9FM in Florida, yet he loved his Italian oldies music as well.

Often a Facebook inmate, a proud man and sometimes stubborn; like Frank Sinatra “Did it his way!” Ernie made friends easily as he had a great sense of humor. He loved his whole family and friends both North and South. He did accomplish many things in his life here that made him proud as well. I know we are all going to miss this funny man; a jack of all trades and a good provider for us. God has him home now where he is with other family and friends. Til we meet again Papa.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rose Miner; children, Amanda DePersis of Windsor, Ny, and Ernest Jay Miner (Nicole) of Windsor, NY; siblings, Tony West (Laura) of Allentown, PA, Maria Garcia (Frank) of Windsor, NY, Suzie Malone (Paul) of Staten Island, NY, Anna Maria Miner of Binghamton, NY, and Rosa Troiano of Binghamton, NY; grandchildren, Destiny Sibley, Dovea Sibley, Riley Miner, Joey Hatala, and Mason Miner; as well as great grandchildren, River Zlock and Easton Hanson.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Details to be announced via www.MullinsMemorial.com.

Memorial Contributions in memory of Ernest Linwood Miner are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital -501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

Mr. Ernie was a great man. He was loving, kind, generous, caring and would give his own shirt off of his back if you needed it. He welcomed myself and family into his life. He was great friends with my father, Edward Lynch Sr. (Deceased)
Our hearts are broken, I don’t have the words to describe the pain that we feel.
May God grant you the strength through this time of sorrow. God Bless and God Speed.

I’ve never read such a beautiful tribute as this was written to honor the memory of Ernest. Such a well deserved tribute.
My heart broke when I saw that he had passed. I know he will be greatly missed by his beautiful loving family.
He will also be terribly missed as a friend and TM brother amongst our network of people with the same affliction that Ernest lived with. He was loved by so many of us. He is gone but will never be forgotten. He is at rest in paradise. God rest his soul and God Bless your entire family.

What sad news to hear. We got to be so close Ernest and I, even though we never met personally, First through our TM group and through our political opinions. I loved him for his sense of humor, his funny and sometimes sarcastic opinion. I am going to miss not being able to see his ruffling of feathers on fb, and also his beautiful poetry. He was definitely a special man. May God’s perpetual light shine upon his soul forever. Aloha Oe’ my friend, until we meet again.

Rose, my sincerest condolences on the passing of Ernie, and to your family as well. I met Ernie through my TM group, and we instantly became friends. I’m certainly going to miss the crazy jokes, the hat of the month postings, and helping him take potshots at democrat supporters. Wahoo, did we ever have a ball doing that! I think there are still hit contracts from the other side of the political divide out there on both of us! May Ernie Rest In Peace, and may you and your family heal quickly from this devastating loss!

Oh boy where do I start…

I’ve been with you since practically birth, you took me in as your own when both my parents couldn’t step up to the plate. And you not only did that for me, you did it for dove, and, Joey too. You were my first best friend. I’ll always remember the times we’d go up and down the road when I was a little shit, as I’d dance threw puddles to see the cows and sing “I’m a ballerina“. You were by my side throughout my whole life. Being not only my shelter but, my mr. Fixer and protector. I had a love for you like no other. 😞
I wanted you so badly to fight but I knew you were tired of all the madness, and it was high time in you to retire from it all. You took on so many other’s problems, all while giving them a support system, that some didn’t even deserve. You were always kings of the mountain sharing your light on others touching so many peoples lives, you truly were a people person. You were the most humble, hardworking, loving and funniest dad/papa/great grandpa/friend to all. And I wish I could take back a few times I took for granted as a kid. I know you’re looking down all of us pain free, drinking all the molson and, Yuengling you could ever ask for without a forced smile on your face.
Never would I have thought you’d be first to go…but when time is all you have, you never know when someone’s will run out. I’m truthfully happy you were able to spend your last few months being in Florida with nana. Just said to see you go without being able to spend some of the time with you too.
You’ll forever be mine and Rivers guide forever. And I will not let you down. We will forever love you to the moon and back. And I’m so glad you got to know River and cherish some memories with him like I did with you. I will continue to live out all your memories within my heart for as long as I live and, share them with little man.🥺

You’ll always be one of a kind. Someone who could never be replaced, thank you for raising me an, being the one dad I never had. You truly will be forever missed. Xo 😘
