Evelyn Marie Wedler

Evelyn Marie Wedler, age 87, entered Heaven’s gates peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral, FL.

She was born December 11, 1926 in St. Louis, MO. At an early age she became an accomplished concert pianist. She won many awards and enjoyed teaching others through her love of music.

In 1971 she moved to Ft. Myers, FL with her late husband Robert G. Wedler, and then relocated to Cape Coral, FL in 1986. They enjoyed living an active Florida lifestyle, fishing, swimming, tennis and dancing. They also loved traveling together to the Caribbean and Central American countries, studying ancient Mayan and Pre Columbian cultures.

Evelyn had an unwavering faith in God and a love for life. She attended Crosspoint Christian Church and was even re-baptized by immersion on Mother’s Day 2013, at the age of 86.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated son, Brent G. Wedler (Karen); three granddaughters, Kimberly Feikert (Adam), Shawna Fernandez (Christian), and Melanie Peetz (Ryan); as well as seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Trinity, and Tobin Feikert; Christian and Gabe Fernandez; and Kolby and Ella Peetz, all whom she lovingly adored.

She was preceded by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert G. Wedler in 2007 and by her first grandchild, Derek Brent Wedler in 1975.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to either, Hope Hospice of Cape Coral or Crosspoint Christian Church.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 26 2014 at Crosspoint Christian Church, 204 SW 11 Place, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
