George T. Harber
George Thomas Harber, 76, a seasonal resident of North Fort Myers, FL since 2000, formerly of Central, OH, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born September 5, 1942 in Columbus, OH to Woodrow and Thelma Harber, now deceased.
George was of the Christian faith. Tom excelled in many sports when he went to Walnut High School, especially basketball where he was the leading scorer in the county. He later participated in slow pitch softball, bowling, bow hunting, fishing, western Square Dancing, and golf. He had many friends in Ohio and Florida.
He retired from American Electric Power in Columbus, Ohio where he worked for 37 years in the underground department.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty Harber of North Fort Myers, FL; five loving children, Rodney Harber of Amanda, OH, Troy Harber (Tammy) of Circleville, OH, Jolene Marcum (Dave) of Amanda, OH, Rick Bochard (Nenita) of San Antonio, TX, and Debra Moberg (John) of London, OH; four siblings, Janice Leist (Charles) of Marblehead, OH, Kathy Hill (George) of Circleville, OH, Woodrow Harber of Circleville, OH, and David Harber (Evelyn) of Circleville, OH; sister in law, Carole Jean O’Connor, brother in law, Richard Clark (Debora); eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by two siblings, Pat Edgington and Ted Harber; as well as two grandsons, Jeremy Lewis and Joshua Lewis.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N. Court St., Circleville, OH 43113.
