Guy Alan Donahue

July 31, 1948 - October 26, 2019

Guy Donahue, 71, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2010, formerly of St. Paul, MN, passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2019 in Cape Coral. He was born on July 31, 1948 in St. Paul to Lawrence and Dolores, now deceased.

Guy is preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon, and brother, Stephen.

He is survived by his children, Terra and Scott (Heather), grandchildren, DeNae, Crystal (Austen) and Austin, and sisters, Dianne and JoAnne.

Guy was a long-standing member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 10, who retired early to live in the warmth of Florida and relax with his newfound passion, ocean fishing. He was a man who knew the value of hard work, but also made time to enjoy his undeniable love for nature. Guy taught his children and grandchildren how to enjoy, love and appreciate the beauty of the outdoors and what it has to offer, and also taught them his values of loyalty and generosity. His family vacations were always centered around fishing and nature, and he was known by family and friends to be the man that found the “one” lake in South Dakota to fish. He even taught his children to pick up trash in the forest before it became a “thing”. He also enjoyed creating as many of these memorable trips with his hunting and fishing buddies that will last forever. Guy spent his retirement doing what he loved and where he loved, and he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Florida and the ocean were his passion, and his final request was to stay in Florida, where there will be a ceremony in the Spring of 2020 to inter his ashes.

Please join his family to remember the happy times, raise a glass with cheer, and celebrate Guy in honor of his life on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 4:30pm at the VFW in North St. Paul. (Late luncheon provided.)

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
