Henry Paul Boguslawski, Jr.

November 23, 1947 - May 30, 2022

Henry Paul Boguslawski, Jr., 74, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1993, formerly of Thomaston, CT, passed away at home on May 30, 2022. He was born November 23, 1947 in Waterbury, CT to Henry and Mary Boguslawski, Sr., now deceased.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Cheryl Boguslawski of Cape Coral, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Bruce Palmer of Sandwich, MA; grandchildren, Chase and Avery Palmer of Sandwich, MA; mother-in-law, Shirley Innes of Thomaston, CT; aunt, Dorothy Nold of Winter Springs, FL; siblings, Judy Currier of Torrington, CT, Patricia Lockwood of Thomaston, CT, and Very Reverend Steven C. Boguslawski, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia, Archdiocese of Hartford, CT; as well as four nieces and four nephews.

Henry cherished his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He was a proud American and Vietnam Era Veteran, serving in the Army as a tank driver in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Clifford R. French Post 22 in Thomaston, CT.  An expert hunter and fisherman, he never missed a chance to walk in the woods or get out on the water. His other passion was sports. For many years, he volunteered as a coach and umpire for recreational teams of various ages. As a dedicated spectator, he enjoyed traveling up and down the East Coast, from Cooperstown, NY to Fort Myers, FL to watch hundreds of games. He had the ability to add levity to a situation with a quip from his Dad or a comical remark…he could make you laugh until you cried.

In his professional life, he completed an apprenticeship at the Iseli Swiss Screw Machine Company in Terryville, CT and worked as a machinist and supervisor for 24 years. After moving to Florida, he continued as a machinist and in 2003 became owner of Forcon Precision Products in Cape Coral until retiring in 2010.

No formal services are planned.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908, or Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne Rosary Hill House, 600 Linda Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532.

Funniest memory of Uncle Henry: When he gave Heff his empty wallet as a gift for her college graduation.
You could see the anticipation on his face, LOL! He could not wait for her reaction.
Keep smiling Uncle Henry, you are in very good company!

RIP Dad…we had a good run. “Fly…fly…fly high against the sky…thank you, thank you, thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.” Love ya, bye.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Chase and I with Papa. I will never forget the countless trips we took down to Cape Coral, where we were always greeted with a hug, a joke, and a belly laugh from Papa. He was one of the funniest and most supportive people I have ever met. Even though we were not close in proximity, I knew Papa was always just a call away, and could count on our conversations bringing a smile to my face. After becoming notorious for getting in fender benders when I started driving, Papa began asking me “how many fenders do you have?” to which I’d reply, “All of ‘em!” I knew it was his special way of checking up on me, and I will miss those moments and laughs more than anything. Hope you’re catching some big fish up there Papa, we’ll all be thinking of you down here. As we’d say after every phone call- love you, bye❤️ xoxo, A

A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and American, Henry was there for all of us. I consider myself lucky to have joined this family and built a wonderful relationship with him. From being referred to as “what’s his name” to developing into a fishing buddy, we spent some great times together. Countless great memories of family activities, fishing trips and “missed em fish” stories (Henry had a lot of those) all told with a wry smile and a heartfelt chuckle. He truly loved life and the humor that it provides us everyday if we look for it! I will miss giving him the updates on family – especially news on the grandkids, as well as the tales of outdoor adventures. Most of all, we will all miss the love and support he always provided us unconditionally. He would give you the shirt off his back if he could without pause! He was proud to be an American Veteran and most importantly a proud family man. Rest in peace Henry, leave some fish up in heaven for the rest of us!

I am thankful to have had the constant love and support Papa showed all of us. He always had something to say to make you laugh, and had his own special way to show you he cared. Whether it was a nickname, or poking fun at you, he always was able to make your day a little bit better. No matter what my interests were throughout the years, he and Nana always went out of their way for me. From skateboarding in the driveway as a little kid, to my first car, and more recently sending me “secret weapon” fishing lures to help me out on the water. He would always go the extra mile for all of us, and I have so many good memories because of him. I am going to miss him very much. Love you Papa.

Dear Cheryl and Heff. I am so sorry to hear about Henry/dad.
Cheryl, remember all the fun we use to have and all the laughs. That goes back so many years. Even before you were married. Henry and I also had so much fun in school. We had so many laughs. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you both but I’ve always thought about you and asked Karen many times how you were. I know you and Heff have such good memories to keep in your hearts.
May Henry always Rest In Peace. I hope I get to see you sometime at one of our family functions. Heff I’m sure I’ll be seeing you at Tia’s. My sympathy for your loss
    Love Darlene Klimanoski

    Dear Cheryl and Family,
So sad to lose another family member, but so glad to have such good memories of family get togethers. Henry’s awesome smile, his “Boguslawski humor”, his devotion to his family, his love of sports and fishing, his wit, and his sincerity will long be remembered.
    Blessings and much love,
    Diane Boguslawski Dove

    Dear Cheryl and Family,
Very sorry to learn of the loss of cousin Henry. We both enjoyed our times in Thomaston Little League, from the time I was batboy and he was a catcher, up till our coaching years as adults. My fondest memory is shortly after his return from the Army, Henry took me for a wild ride in his flashy baby blue & white 1955 Corvette at top speed, and gave me the scare of my life! Good times, good memories. May the love of family and friends support and comfort you in the days ahead.
    John A. Boguslawski, Jr.
