Hillary Kay DiTommaso
Hillary Kay DiTommaso, 43, a Lee County, Florida resident for the last 15 years, formerly of Lake Wales, Florida, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 in Cape Coral, Florida. She was born July 21, 1971 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Hillary was a member of the Ft. Myers First Church of the Nazarene. She expressed her faith in Jesus by extending love, kindness, and friendship to many, and through her dedicated involvement in the ministries of her church, where she taught Bible studies and Sunday School classes after having served as a missionary in Malawi and Mozambique as a young adult. Her faith was real, believable, and contagious. Hillary’s life was characterized by a radiant smile and an easy laughter that she shared gladly with everyone she met. The delight of her heart was in being a wife and mother, and she cherished her relationship with her extended family, as well. She opened the door to family status to as many as would agree to love her back! An eager student, Hillary excelled academically, earning a bachelor’s degree in education from MidAmerica Nazarene College in 1992. She was a public school teacher for many years. Desiring a career change, she was pursuing a master’s degree in counseling from Liberty University at the time of her death. In the latter years of her life, Hillary developed a sense of adventure that helped her conquer some lifelong fears, and so she came to enjoy riding motorcycles and sailing. She loved music, and sang along to the music of her faith and to the music of the Wiggles! She developed friendships with people all around the world through her musical interest. Loved by all, Hillary lived an enormous life in a period of time that was far too short.
She is survived by her beloved husband of four years, Guy A. DiTommaso of Cape Coral; her loving mother, Freda K. Miller of Mt. Moriah, MO; six children, Megan Balsbaugh of Alva, FL, Allison Balsbaugh also of Alva, Sarah DiTommaso of Cape Coral, FL, Kristy DiTommaso of Neptune, NJ, Jessica Milligan and husband Todd of Richmond, VA and Guy H.
