J.D. Garber, 95, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since July 2010, formerly of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 in Fort Myers. He was born April 21, 1923 in Goshen, IN to Marland and Jenny Garber, now deceased.
J.D. was a Veteran of The United States Army and was of the Protestant faith. He was in the insurance business, then later enjoyed many years in the RV Industry. J.D. and June also had fond memories of the antique business which they shared together. J.D. will be remembered for his love, kindness, and devotion for family and friends.
He is survived by three loving children, Charles E. Garber of Goshen, IN, Christopher L. Garber of Union, MI, and Lisa Silvernail of Cape Coral; former son in law, John Silvernail of Naples, FL; three grandchildren, Sarah Silvernail of Naples, FL, Zachary Silvernail (Leanne) of Greenville, SC, and Jade Maynard (Matt) of Seattle, WA; as well as three great grandchildren, Emma Hayes, Hannah Jahn, and Mason Maynard.
J.D. was preceded in death by his wife, Lowell June Garber in 2012; a son, J.D. Garber II; as well as a sister, Betty Garber.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 12:30 PM Monday, November 26, 2018 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 with Pastor Lee Carnahan officiating.
