James W. Kennedy
James W. Kennedy, 87, a resident of St. James City, FL for the past 21 years, formerly of Windham, NH passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born November 19, 1929 in Lowell, MA to Daniel and Nora (Dalton) Kennedy, now deceased.
James served in the navy on the USS Oriskany, worked for the Air Force in Bedford, MA. for many years and for Edward Kelly Co. of Lowell, MA. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Parish in Pelham, NH. where he was active in the Men’s Club and Council and called Bingo for many years. James coached St. Patrick’s Parish CYO basketball team and the Pelham Babe Ruth baseball team. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Kennedy of St. James City, FL; two loving children, Gail Cushing (Bruce) of Fort Edward, NY and Michael Kennedy of Kennebunkport, ME; as well as three grandchildren, Katherine Cushing, James W. Kennedy, and Evan Michael Kennedy, and many nieces and nephews. Family was most important to him. They will miss his quick wit and dry humor.
James was preceded in death by a son, James William Kennedy, Jr., his sisters Eileen Deecan and Clare O’Neil, and a brother Daniel F. Kennedy.
Memorial Services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Church, 12 Main Street, Pelham, NH 03076.
