Jeffrey Wayne Edens

January 9, 1961 - July 18, 2020

Jeffrey Wayne Edens, 59, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1971, a North Fort Myers Highschool graduate (78), formerly of Toledo, OH, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 in Fort Myers. He was born January 9, 1961 in Toledo, OH.

Jeff worked at the Sanibel Marina and Gramma Dot’s restaurant for more than 30 years. “Chef Jeff” won the People’s Choice Award back to back years 2001-2008 during the annual Taste of the Islands event.  He was the familiar face helping boaters at the marina docks.

He always had a song in his head, a tune he would hum, a joke or story to tell, and a willingness to help anyone who needed it.  He loved to cook and to travel, going on many adventures with family. He was the crazy uncle that loved to get all of his nieces and nephews (Heather, Lauren, Emily Jo, Kurstyn, Dariane, Cade, Jessi Ann and William) riled up no matter their age, with his wit and youthful antics.

A loving, devoted brother and son, he is survived by his mother, Beverly Edens-Randolph of Sarasota, FL; four siblings, Diana Tumey (Eric) of Bremerton, WA, Dawnn Seaton (Mark) of Spring, TX, Shane Edens (Danielle) of Willis, TX; and former sister in law, Jennifer Wilson, and Jodi Edens-Crocker (Jack) of Silver City, NM.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Kennon Wayne Edens (1998) and step-dad, Chester Randolph (2019).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Details to be announced via www.MullinsMemorial.com

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

Jeff was always such a great brother figure him and Kevin where ornery as could be. It is a relief to know that Jeff and Uncle Kenny, dad and Kevin are all up there together watching over all of us. I was blessed to have known him most of my life. My first big crush. Please accept my condolences on your loss. I have fond memories of working with Jeff at Sanibel Marina. We worked together bringing boats from the East coast to Sanibel. I remember his red truck and that he was a good chef. RIP Jeff.
