Jesus “JC” Ramirez

November 18, 1943 - September 4, 2022

Jesus “JC” Ramirez, 79, a resident of Fort Myers, FL for more than 50 years, formerly of Hughes, AR, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 in Fort Myers. He was born November 18, 1943 in Hughes, AR to Antonio and Paulina Ramirez, now deceased.

Jesus better known as Jessie aka: Pop’s was of the Catholic faith and attended Jesus the Worker Catholic Church in Fort Myers. Pop’s was a reserved, humble and hardworking man. He loved everyone, his children especially, and everyone that came in contact with him loved him, as well. Pops also loved cheeseburgers, McDonald’s ones, in particular. He worked in the fields and did landscaping for the majority of his life. He enjoyed working outside and was very passionate and particular about his work. No matter where he was working or what he was working on, he was always in good spirits, literally whistling while he worked. He would always remind his grandkids and great grandkids to be a “good boy or good girl” and reward them by taking one stick of gum and splitting it into small, tiny pieces enough for everyone to have. He’d tell them to say, “good morning teacher” at school and to always “work hard and keep looking forward”, reminding them to be well behaved and to have good manners. And, of course, he taught them to answer “No!” when he would ask if anyone wanted chocolate chip cookies because they knew it meant a spanking in Pop’s terms. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his loving children, Jessie Ramirez, Jr. (Brenda) of Calypso, NC, Daniel Ramirez (Patricia) of Faison, NC, David Ramirez (Concepcion) of Fort Myers, Joey Ramirez (Vicky) of Fort Myers, Ricky Ramirez of Calypso, NC, Esmeralda Manzanares (George) of North Fort Myers, FL, and Eddie Ramirez (Aremi) of Calypso, NC; sister, Rebecca Rendon (Charley) of Fort Myers; 24 grandchildren, Skyler Ramirez, Jessie T. Dearest Family …
Jesse was the most precious human being! I first met him when he first began working for my mother … back, about 1990 or so. He was like the brother I never had. Always a big smile, always kind and positive words. I appreciated his friendship so much. My daughter always thought the world of Jesse also. He was family to us.
I did not know when he passed away. Ginger told me he had passed away years ago and I just learned that wasn’t true. So, please accept my deepest apologies. Know that Jesse was much loved. And we thought the world of his loving children. He was so blessed to have all of you. Kindest regards,
