John A. Craft, Jr.

December 15, 1949 - October 2, 2020

John A. Craft, Jr., 70, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2014, formerly of Tyler, TX, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born December 15, 1949 in Columbus, OH to John and Juanita Craft, Sr., now deceased.

John loved to play golf and one of the reasons he retired to Florida, along with it being hot – he loved the Florida weather. He and Shelly were both avid golfers and loved to travel. John worked in retail sales all over the U.S. and before retiring to Florida, he worked at Hall Buick/GMC in Tyler Texas, which he loved – he was a people person, did very well in car sales and made many lifelong friends.  He had a very loud, boisterous voice, smile in his heart, his face and always laughing.  A few of his sayings that we will miss hearing – “breakfast ball, mulligan, tried to kill the ball, I’ve slept since then, did I sleep last night, and unbelievable.”

John was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Linda Kaye Craft in 2013; as well as two siblings, Belinda Gunn and Robert Craft.

He is survived by three siblings, Brenda Harper (Steven) of Grove City, OH, Nancy Craft of Columbus, OH, and Billy Craft (Cindy) of Columbus, OH; his loving companion, Shelly Matzick of Cape Coral; Shelly’s daughters, Amy Stewart and Michelle Stewart; a large and loving extended family; as well as, their kids, Jazzy and Pepper, their dogs.

No formal services are planned at this time. John’s final resting place will be Oaklawn Cemetery in Athens, TX with his wife, Linda Kaye.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

He was the salesman at Hall’s that sold me my first Yukon in Tyler. Every time I came in he would visit for a while. I bought from him more than once. He was a fantastic person. I know he will be missed.
