John David O’Toole, Jr.

April 21, 1956 - July 21, 2022

John David O’Toole passed away peacefully July 21, 2022, in Naples, FL.  He was born April 21, 1956 and raised in South Amboy, NJ, graduated from St Mary’s High School class of 1974.

John was an avid Baseball Player from a very early age and was selected for Spring Training try outs with the New York Yankees.  He loved boating, fishing, hunting & golfing and was a Member of the Knight’s of Columbus and New Jersey Northeast Carpenters Union.  His life work was in the construction industry and he loved being a General Contractor renovating & remodeling commercial and residential properties.  John loved Life and enjoyed it to the fullest with his many many friends and loved ones.   

He is preceded in death by his parents, John David O’Toole, Sr. and Roberta Sandorff Smoensk; daughters, Ashley and Shannon O’Toole; and brother, Shawn.

John leaves behind his loving Fiancée and Soul Mate, Mary Gray; daughter, Chelsea Grosenback; sister, Colleen Fobes; brother, Craig; four grandchildren; a niece and a nephew; his devoted dog, “Buddy”; as well as many Friends.

A Life Celebration will be held August 20, 2022 at the Village of Monterey Clubhouse, 1745 Mission Dr., Naples, FL 34109 from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.

    We miss you my friend. You always greeted with a smile and a strong hand shake. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.     Remembering our many lunches at Backstreet when you lived on the Cape and all the fishing trips in the Keys during our long Memorial Day weekends for many years, having to wait for you every morning before we headed out and the laughs and good times we had. Myself and many others will miss you as well. Rest in piece my freind.
