Joseph John Thalasitis

August 9, 1979 - June 19, 2018

Joseph John Thalasitis, 38, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 2000, formerly of the Bronx, NY and South Dennis, MA, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Cape Coral. He was born August 9, 1979 in Westwood, NJ.

Joseph was of the Christian faith. He attended Saint Helena’s Catholic Grade School in the Bronx; where he served as an altar boy and was an honor student. He attended Dennis-Yarmouth Regional H.S. on Cape Cod (Yarmouth) and graduated in June 1997. His ailing father Andy was there to see his son graduate from D.Y despite being near death. He promised his Dad that he would always be close to his mother and he kept that promise faithfully!

Andy and Joey-John (as he called him) had an intensely close father-son bond and Joe will be interred with his father at Long Island National Cemetery.

Joseph drove limos on Cape Cod, sold cars at Ford of Hyannis and repaired cellular devices. He loved animals, especially his dog, Paxton. He had a passion for cars; especially Mustangs. He could sing, play the guitar and enjoyed playing at Backstreets Sports Bar in Cape Coral on occasion. Despite of his many illnesses and chronic pain he remained an up-beat and optimistic soul! His wonderful disposition, smile and sense of humor will be missed. He was always thoughtful and was someone to go to for advice for various matters as he was knowledgeable in many areas.

He is survived by his loving mother, Toni Sullivan (Bill) of Cape Coral, longtime girlfriend, Jen Barnicoat of Cape Coral, two brothers, Marc Thalasitis (Daniella) of Whitman, MA and Michael Thalasitis of Harwich, MA; as well as a nephew, Ezekiel and a niece, Kaylee.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Thalasitis.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Long Island, NY. Details to be announced via www.MullinsMemorial.com.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
