Kyleen A. Sturgeon

April 28, 1988 - February 3, 2019

Kyleen April Sturgeon was born April 28th, 1988 in Eustis Florida; she went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2019. She is survived by her son Titus Lee Benjamin Lewis; Titus’ Dad, Richard Lewis; Parents, Bill and Paula Sturgeon; Step Mom, Linda Sturgeon; Grandmother, Joyce Sturgeon; Grandfather, Ray Fulton; Brother, Robert Sturgeon; Sister, April Miller; Step Sister, Lindsey Akins-Krebs; as well as Step Brother, Luke Akins. She also has many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends who she has impacted over the years. She was preceded into heavens gates by grandfather, Robert L. Sturgeon and Grandmother, Doris Fulton.

Kyleen had a great sense of humor, loved life, her family and most of all her pride and joy, Titus. From an early age Kyleen was a free spirit and did not want to be tied down, she loved to be on the go and was always looking for the next adventure in her life. She also proved to be a very head strong young lady. This was apparent as she “challenged” many ideas in her life. During her younger years, she studied different types of dance, but when she reached her twenty’s she had fallen in love with ballroom dancing. Kyleen loved to dance! Kyleen and her Dad shared their love of Dance and one of her Dad’s fondest memories is when she was teaching him how to ballroom dance. She is known for her dancing skills and teaching ability and is well respected by members of the dance world. Her dancing career took her to the Midwest, where she joined a Dance Troupe in Tulsa Oklahoma. She loved living in Oklahoma and convinced her mother to move out to Oklahoma to live with her for several years. This adventure was where Kyleen and her mother bonded. Paula become one her biggest advocates and confidant. After completing her time in Oklahoma, she returned to Florida where she met Richard Lewis and fell in love; a few years later they had Titus. One of her mother’s most memorable experiences was being in the labor and delivery room when Titus was born. Kyleen quickly took the role of mother very seriously. She is an excellent mother that made sure Titus had everything he needed. Kyleen decided not work for several years after Titus was born, but rather focused on becoming an excellent mother. Kyleen excelled at motherhood, which is apparent by the way that Titus would look at her and smile when she is near!

Recently, Kyleen decided go back to work and started working in the food service industry. She was a team member at the McDonalds in Cape Coral and in a discussion earlier this week between the manager and her Dad, the store manager shared with him how much she was loved by her fellow crew members.

Another one of Kyleen’s traits is that she is “FEARLESS” and she took every opportunity to ride every roller coaster she could find. Kyleen also would not back down from any challenge. Kyleen pushed everything to the limit, like blowing up the motor in her sports car, because the radiator had a leak and she drove it until it ran out of water, overheating the engine…!!!!

Kyleen loved to travel: At the early age of 15, Kyleen and two of her friends decided to drive to Phoenix Arizona in the middle of the night, but that’s a different story for a different time. At age 16, Kyleen accompanied her mother to the Western Caribbean, Grand Cayman and Mexico. She went on many family trips to the family cabin and spent a few summers with Grandma Joyce in the Mountains of North Carolina.

Kyleen also loved fairies and Warcraft games. She loved going to Disney World to visit her favorite character “Tinker Bell.” Kyleen loved to read and was an avid reader. Over the years she read the Harry Potter series, The Hobbit series and other great novels. Kyleen’s favorite food is Peanut Butter and marshmallow fluff sandwiches. She was a Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fan (Why? We don’t know?) and growing up she loved to play soccer. Kyleen loved her brother Robert dearly and anytime she spoke of him she never said Robert, it is always just “BROTHER…” Her sister April adored Kyleen and always looked forward to her visits. They had that very special sister bond that only sisters can have.

Kyleen and her grandfather Ray had a very special and loving relationship from the time they first laid eyes on each other. If Kyleen had a most Valuable Player in her life it would be her grandfather, Ray Fulton.

Kyleen will be truly missed by the people in her life but will continue to be loved by all of her family and friends. I would suggest to you that she lived her life to the fullest and experienced everything the way Kyleen wanted it. She did not live a perfect life, as none of us do, but she lived her life to the fullest. For that, her family is grateful that Kyleen lived “her life.”

Kyleen, you can now fly with the angels and dance among the stars…
