Linda Grace Amey-Fernandez

March 13, 1949 - April 22, 2021

Linda Grace Amey-Fernandez, 72, a resident of Lee County, FL since 1971, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Fort Myers. She was born March 13, 1949 in Miami to Jesse and Grace Amey, now deceased.

Linda attended Hialeah High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart (Perry). She was a military (Air Force) wife while stationed in Homestead, FL before moving the family to the west coast in 1971. Linda was a special education teaching assistant at Bonita Springs Elementary School and attended the First Baptist Church of Bonita Springs where she played an active role in the youth ministry.

Later in life, Linda moved to Fort Myers to be closer to her two daughters and their families. She attended McGregor Baptist Church of Fort Myers. She worked for her in-law’s family-owned business, Richardson Homes as a vital member of the team.

In her spare time, Linda enjoyed being creative in many forms of art, such as making jewelry, craft-booking, drawing, and chalk painting. She loved taking cruises with her friends and shelling on the beach. Linda loved nothing more in life than spending time with her grandchildren. Her saying was, “Love my GOD, my girls, and my grandkids”. Linda was a woman of faith and her family takes comfort in their loss in knowing she is with our heavenly Father.

She is survived by two loving children, Jeri Richardson (Jason) of Fort Myers, and Julie Higginbotham (Tate) of Fort Myers; fiancé, Kevin Cherry of Fort Myers; sister, Susan Skinner of NC; sister-in-law, Bonnie Amey of Marco Island, FL; grandchildren, Tanner, Carson, Emily, Landyn, and Piper; as well as a niece and three nephews, Aimee, Scott, Ray, and Billy.

Linda was preceded in death by two siblings, Raymond Amey and Jesse Amey.

No formal services are planned at this time.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Fort Myers, is entrusted with final care.

    Dear Jeri and Julie, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. My mom met our Savior face to face in February. I miss her every day but know she’s where she longed to be. God bless you and your families. My prayers are with you.
